Question
It is said that memory is sometimes related to errors occurring during phone calls using the MatrixCloud WebRTC softphone. Are there any recommendations regarding web browser memory for Chrome, Edge, etc.?
Answer
Chrome is the most widely used web browser both domestically and internationally, and since it is made by Google, it is optimized for various Google services such as YouTube, but it has the drawback of severe memory leaks.
Therefore, starting from version 110, Chrome implemented a memory-saving feature to enable smooth use even on low-spec computers.
However, problems can occur due to the memory-saving feature. When multiple tabs are open in the web browser, inactive tabs that are not currently in use are deactivated to allow the active tab to run smoothly. Accessing an inactive tab will automatically refresh it.
However, on computers with sufficient RAM capacity, the memory-saving feature may be enabled without causing refreshes.
In computers with insufficient RAM, when using the MatrixCloud CTI-based WebRTC softphone, if you leave the Zendesk or Salesforce screen tab and work on another tab for a while, then receive a call, the integration app connection in the Zendesk or Salesforce tab may be disconnected, potentially causing Tickets or Cases not to be created or errors to occur.
To prevent such errors, it is recommended to upgrade the RAM of the computer used to 16GB or more and either turn off the memory-saving feature in the Chrome web browser settings or, if keeping it enabled, add the Zendesk or Salesforce sites used for calls as exception sites.

Location: Performance > General, Memory
Turn off the memory-saving feature or add exception sites.
If you keep the memory-saving feature enabled, focus on the section "Always keep the following sites active" and click "Add" to add the Zendesk and Salesforce pages used for phone work.
For Zendesk, add zendesk.com to the exception sites,
and for Salesforce, add lightning.force.com and salesforce.com.

First, try adding exception sites and use them, and if tabs are still deactivated, disable resource saving by turning off sleeping tabs.
